Othello is a city in Adams County, Washington, USA. The population was 8,549 at the 2020 census, up 16 percent from 2010. It is located in the core of the Columbia Basin Project, about 100 miles southwest of Spokane. The area's earliest white inhabitants were two brothers, Ben and Sam Hutchinson, who erected a cottage along Crab Creek in 1884.

An influx of homesteaders began after the turn of the twentieth century, and a post office was constructed in 1904. A public contest was held to name the post office after another named Othello in Roane County, Tennessee. This place experiences a semi-arid climate. Famous places to explore here include the Scenic Overlook of the Columbia River, McCosh Park, Columbia National Wildlife Refuge, Moses Lake Roundup, and Potholes State Park.
